Meet Dr. Benitez
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio and the founder of MAR (Mood and Anxiety Regulation) Psychological Services, a telehealth private practice serving adolescents, young adults, and adults across 43 U.S. states through PSYPACT authorization. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2018. I completed my clinical psychology internship at Vanderbilt Medical Center and the VA system in Tennessee, where I received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-focused interventions, and mindfulness-based approaches. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship in Washington State at Cadence Child and Adolescent Therapy and am a Linehan Board of Certification–Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist. Clinically, I specialize in evidence-based treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Perfectionism, and Emotion Regulation Difficulties associated with personality disorders. My approach is structured, skills-focused, and collaborative, with an emphasis on helping clients develop practical tools that support long-term change. In addition to my clinical work, I have an active background in research. I have published peer-reviewed articles examining validation processes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and related treatments. My research has been presented at national and international conferences, including the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (ISSPD), the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP), and the Great Lakes Alliance for the Study of Stress and Trauma (GLASS). I am fluent in English and Spanish and committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care that is both accessible and clinically rigorous.
